In this blog post, I will reflect on some feedback given to me by my peers who reviewed the Proposition for my Genius Hour Project (see Blog Post #4: Drafting a Visual Proposal), and consider how I should improve my project. I will not name who reviewed my Blog Post #4 out of respect for their privacy, but I will address each of their comments with utmost sincerity.
The first person who reviewed my Proposition for my Genius Hour Project mentioned that they were wondering what my poems meant to me, personally. I believe that this is an interesting thing to think about, and that others may also be wondering this as well. It makes sense that with a better understanding of what my poetry means to me, others may also be able to better understand what motivated me to publish them, and why I chose the poems I did to publish. When I choose the poems I intend to publish, I will definitely take this person's advice and explain what this specific poem meant to me personally, as well as what motivated me to publish it. I will make sure to go into to detail to improve others understanding about the connection there is between me and my poetry.
The second person who reviewed my Proposition for my Genius Hour Project suggested that I enter my poetry in to a competition, for I would be able to get myself out there and be known resulting in a higher chance of my work being published. I have to say, I had been considering for some time on entering my poetry in a competition, yet I hadn't found the courage in myself to actually attempt to enter. However, I am sure after this project, seeing that I can and have published my poetry will give me the confidence boost I need to enter my poetry in a competition. So, I do indeed plan on taking this person's advice and entering my poetry into a competition. An opportunity that comes to mind is the Reflections competition at the beginning of the next school year, in which I will consider on entering my poetry in.
Overall, both people who reviewed my Blog Post #4 gave insightful and thoughtful advice on how to improve my project, as well as how to take some other courageous steps with my poetry (entering in a competition). I am very thankful on receiving such important feedback and opinions, and I am grateful to have a chance to learn what my peers think of my project so far. With that final thought, I conclude this blog post.
